Snowshoeing in Lamoille Canyon

We went for a winter hike on snow shoes, up Lamoille Canyon yesterday, 12/27. Greg and Jack came with us; fun was had by all, not to mention a great workout. Our destination was the stream coming down the mountain at Thomas Creek campground. We made it, as the pictures show. It was a long trek, though, and dusk was falling as we returned to the car. I was sorry not to be able to take the corgis, but the deep snow is beyond what their short legs can handle. Jack porpoised his way up the hills, having a good time, but was glad when we got back down to the road where some snowmobiles had come through.

What do you mean their short legs can't handle the snow? Don't tell my crew that - the snow is hip high here in places and they just push through it :)
